Wrap This Around Your Neck

My body language

Speaking louder than my words

My body language slips through

The hole in my speech

And it knits my secrets

My thoughts

My responses

My body language weaves through

The letters,

The single letters that string together

To form a short phrase

A phrase I’m knitting

For you to wear around your neck

Loosen that rope

Attached to the curtain rod

Knitting the “i” looping through the “l”

Let the distressed rope fall

My body language is knitting these

Three words

I’d like you to wear these threads,

These three words

.
Wrap this around your neck instead.

Let it keep the cold out

And the scars in

Wrap my love around your neck instead
