Write My Heart Out

When I'm overcome with feeling

I write with pen unyeilding.

Poetry,

Mother to my soul.

In brokenness I come to it.

In love, in joy, in tenderness.

Whenever I need healing

I write with no concealing.

Poetry,

Patching up my holes.

In rage I write my heart out.

In tears, in pain, in everything.

When my thoughts away are stealing

My words I write, kneeling.

Poetry,

soother of my soul.
