To Write or Not To Write (Shakespearean Parody)

To write or not to write- that is the question: Whether tis nobler to do the assignment and face the critiques of the peers, or to remain safe from people's thoughts, and consequently get a zero. To write, to do the work- claiming indifference to other's thoughts. To take the time to write is to pour your heart onto paper in the form of words. You leave yourself open and defenseless in the war against the critics. Not to write, to do nothing- and consequently fail the assignment. To care too much about the critic's thoughts toward your art. Yet, understandably, guarding your pride from the dagger-like comments, and accepting the F to save yourself. Writing is a difficult task. For who wishes to be confined by all the rules: grammar rules, spelling? For who can waste their time, with their mind drained of creativity, sitting there for hours as the drafts pile up in the trash can? And yet, people continue to write. They release their soul into the vast and endless sea of vocabulary. For who doesn't want to inspire the world with a pen, and be remembered long after their time? Thus we are inspired to write and thus the need to save our pride is overpowered by the desire to express. With this regard, the pen meets paper, and we lose our ego in favor of words.

I was just picking random pages and reading poems when your poem caught my eye. The name grabed me because I love shakespeare. The only problem is that u kept bringing up getting a bad grade on the writing. i always thought poetry can be experienced in too many different ways for someone to shoot it down when five others will praise it. I kinda took a different approach and if you could I'd like you to read my poem!

http://www.powerpoetry.org/poems/world-moves-490000-mph
