Write to remain silent

It is a little known fact that I may talk a bit much

more is simply more, I like to keep in touch

anyway I can get across a new way to express

I'll do all I can although they try to stop the press

A year or so ago I made a bet of friendly sorts

could I not talk for a day? they asked, "well sure" was  my retort

oh its a peice of cake, I'll simply not make a sound

but oh I quickly learned that simply wasn't going down

I sqreached and filled the air with sound effects

If I could just communicate I'd win, their match would be met

I thought that I would go insane, I thought that I woud pop

then all the words I wanted to say came to a slow stop

they stood in line, and out they marched, OH JOY what relief

oh the silence of pen and pad was my sole retreat

I wrote hello and wrote goodbyes and everything inbetween

and years later I text my friends, you see, I'm going green

writting has been a pleasure, an ease on my voice

I love to write poetry, thats my weapon of choice

so cheers to my competitive friends, this one goes to you

the best idea since microwave, oh the wonders it can do
