Write the Rights
I do the topics, I write the rights,
I’ve stayed up late for many nights.
To turn it in, another sheet,
Of busy work my dog could eat.
You can’t see, and you don’t know
How bored I am of this old show.
I don’t learn staring at a desk in blinding light
I want you to SHOW me how to do it right.
So teach me now what I should do
When I am a teacher just like you
Or sit me at a cubicle desk
Give me projects like I’m the best.
Let me measure the speed of light
Or solve the Haitian hunger plight.
Teach me how to make candy bars
Then build a shuttle to fly to Mars.
The world is diverse so let me be!
After a while I think you will see,
That what I will become is up to me,
But it is your job to set me free.
