The Writer

The feeling of lead biting into paper Tapping keys that turn into words A story like a storm cloud raging in my thoughts Lightning flashing, thunder roaring Is now tangible in sentences and paragraphs The smell of pencils and looseleaf The beauty of a clean sheet and its possibilities I keep my head from exploding Before the ideas let it burst Keep my heart beating blood flowing The letters that turn into words The wonder of a story that becomes real
