The Writer

 The Writer

who is he?

who is she?

and what do they write for

stand for

no one actually knows

no one shows

appreciation for their spoken words

so the writer writes them down

because paper is the

best listener

it won't drown

out your words

with its own

the writer writes

in the zone

of imagination

oh no writer's block!

the immortal enemy

of the active mind

the crippler of an

essay timed

but the writer overcomes.

the writer survives the broken

connection between

mind and hand

between God and man

and the writer writes on

because the writer writes

to live.
