The Writer in Me

I write for beautiful. I write for peace. I write for me.

Sometimes a pen to paper is easier than words to a mouth

Sometimes journaling is greater than the loudest shout

Sometimes a pen is all I need to figure things out

I write for beautiful. I write for peace. I write for me.

There are some emotions that go and others that stay

To keep those thoughts that whirl at bay

I decide to write stories and poems of a better day

I write for beautiful. I write for peace. I write for me.

There are ideas, passions, and causes that must be expressed

So I write…. I’ve heard that loaded words work best

But being one not to digress I’ll focus back on what was left

I write for beautiful. I write for peace. I write for me.

I am a writer not because I can rhyme but because I have a gift and it’s not only mine

It is something that everyone can share and sometimes it takes just that one person to push you there

I write because there is a beauty in words

I write because it is a universal way to be heard

I write because it is being four years old enjoying the purity of the world.
