The Writers Asylum
You know they are always watching right?
High and mighty they stand over us, never blinking.
Did you see how perfect their hair is? Not one piece out of place…
I’m telling you they know something,
Do you have a cigarette? oh very well, you're right I don’t need the relief I’ll get to comfortable.
What do I mean by that? WHAT do I MEAN by THAT? I told you they are always watching!
Look around kid, these grey painted stone floors are getting colder,
and so is the ever expanding white tile across the walls.
Now don’t jerk out of your jacket, those straps are a fashion statement you know.
Don’t cry either, tears won’t flood a place like this. Trust me I have tried one too many times.
Look me in the eyes, directly, I want your very soul to breath into mine for this.
I found the escape route,
they said it couldn’t be done but I found it!
Quickly, you must very quickly listen; Your escape lives in your legacy.
You only have one shot at this so take every second of it.
In the corner, next to the faceless dolls and scissor protection covers
lies a sheet of toilet paper buried, and a thin rod of charcoal; place it in your mouth
I want you write your story, put down what they have done to you,
remember every cruel beginning and end of this revolution,
and most importantly, remember who you are; because its all you have left in this pit.
May your spirit flow with the movement of your words, because you only write once in here, and
You know they are always watching right?
