Writer's Block

Every writer knows

Exactly how it feels

It’s like wanting to eat

But there are no meals

Like wanting to run

But you can’t feel your legs

Like having chickens

That lay no eggs

The stories I have

Are trapped in a cage

Stuck in my head

Not on the page

I want people to read

My words and feel

All I have to do

Is break the seal

But it's not that easy

To open the gate

To create a story

That carries its weight

The first simple step

Is to write one word

Then move to the second

And then add a third
