Writer's Lust
Empty words and empty phrases
Empty books and empty pages
Filled with nothing, always bare
Always waiting for truth to share
To make true words a time must come
A time when one can hear the drums
The call of battle, call of war
Begging you to write just one more
Though the hand will cramp, and the eyes will tire
Though lips will be bitten, and the skin will perspire
The life brought to the page with passion of fire
Will never be killed, will never expire
When the ink is dry and the page is dust
When the glue of the spine has turned to crust
One can understand the pleasure
Of Writer’s Lust
