The Written Apology
I’m sorry, you know
This is hard for me to say
You loved me for something
That I’m not today
So I’m sorry for the hurt I caused
The disappointment on your eyes
The way I disregard things
Is an attitude you despise
But I have to come to terms
And you need to understand
That I’m not somebody wonderful
And when difficulty came, I ran
I’m just a normal human being
With nothing special to be
I’ve given up hope and lost my drive
To be something other than ordinary me
So I’m sorry for the lack of spark
For the disappointment that I am
I only express my feelings through literary work
A method of expression you don’t understand
And it was hard but I’ve said sorry
And now I hope that you’ll forgive
Because even though I’m nothing now
Without your love I don’t think I could live
