The Wrong Direction

I wish you knew With my heart breaking on the inside The smile still on the outside You say you know But I know you don’t Not in the way I know I see you looking at her But you don’t see me watching after you I know you better than anyone So why don’t you know? My heart is yours unconditionally I’m reaching out, trying to get to you But you’re always just out of reach The tears are coming down But you’re already walking in the wrong direction I’m always there for you And you are there for me But not in the way I want I think about telling you And then change my mind Knowing it could ruin everything I’m reaching out, trying to get to you But you’re always just out of reach The tears are coming down But you’re already headed in the wrong direction I wish I had the strength to tell you That you’re all I need I could be the best for you If you weren’t headed in the wrong direction The way your hand fits perfectly with mine The way your embrace is where I want to be I thought I knew where this was supposed to go But now I don’t know… I’m tired of reaching out, trying to get something that’s never there The tears are coming down I know you’ll always be headed in the wrong direction You might still be all I need, but I’m learning to live without you I’ll miss what might have been, even though now I know I was headed in the wrong direction I wish you’d known…
