Yas Diva Slay

I am that black girl in your school who destroys your racists ideas.

My hair is as curly as Shirley.

I ask you guys not to touch my hair, but let's be real.

My hair is your very own petting zoo.

I am not some animal for you to pet.

This is my body, my space, and my voice.

My voice shouts for #BlackLivesMatter.

I am the one who will have your back.

No one will step over me or the one's I care for.

Life is a game that I refuse to lose.

I am going to recieve a college education.

For years I have joined honors class after honors class.

My education is my top priority that no boy will take from me.

I am amazing at playing the saxophone.

Musical talent is what I have.

Not only can I hold a tune, I can write some too.

I am proud to help others write their speeches.

Poetry, Impromptu, and SOS.

I give lots of laughs and the truth.

I am a girl that has never felt so confident.

I am Chanelle.
