A Yawn, repressed, must always rise
A Yawn, repressed, must always rise;
It ne'er can be destroyed-
Injected in the Human Conscious:
Will to be appraised.
The ignorance of simple Bliss-
Refusal to comply,
To swallow back that toxic Yawn;
Courage? Or suicide?
But not 'fore long, the Urge returns
With same ferocity,
I tell myself: "Been done before,
No use in just one Try."
So on and on the Cycle goes,
Toward fierce infinity,
"No Pain, no gain," is all I say
To try to justify.
Then one day, I experiment,
And acquiesce to Yawn,
And find that the toxicity
Was inner; not beyond.
