Yawning

Ephesians 5:13-14

13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.

14 Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”

Awake my little brother ... dance in the sun

The day is here before you waiting for your smile

Refreshed you should be singing before the day is done

In the wake of cleanliness you’re not yet beguiled

Yawns are rolling in the air ... oxygen’s search is on

There is enough to go around but I can’t get it yet

Teary-eyed in la-la land ... what’s now to be done

As the pen moves on paper and thoughts are still in bed

I think the coffee is ready ... my thoughts now toss and turn

They know the time of getting up and to join my dreary mind

The melody of life is ready as it waited for its turn

The dance in the heart will start ... quietly and kind

Moving through the universe ... gliding past the sun

Nothing is impossible as the stars are fading slowly

I am now part of this as in thought, I travel on

to a place far beyond where pure angels roam

Yawning now has stopped ... strength is returning

The moment of dreams now slip into memory

Soon the time will come to start again yearning

for the next day to carve itself into history
