A Year Ago Today

A year ago today

I was in a shell

I did not know what to say

because I felt like Hell.

Broken, hurt, and very sad

I looked upon my life

I didn't have to be this bad

I didn't need this strife.

Over days, and weeks, and months

I began to see the light

I got the feel of friendship warmth

I knew that I could fight.

A year ago today

My life began to change

Because of friends and family

I'll never be the same.

I legitimately do not know why this poem is formatted this way. I also can't figure out how to fix it.
