A Year Anecdote

It’s been a Jan-u-weary

of a good time of a year

I think we’re ready to relax;

it’s time to have good ‘cheers’!

Feb-ru-where you at?

I ain’t seen you since last year.

I’m Marching on to April, yeah

I’m shaking off my fears

‘May I be your burning light?’

I said to her that June.

‘As long as Ju-lie right next to my side

you’re the sun and I’m the moon’

Au-gust of wind came on in

and halted summer in its tracks;

I was falling real too fast

she was not there to have my back.

I was lost in the world too far this time;

there was no worser year...

ex-Sept embers of our endeavors

I’d soon find out had persevered

Drunk out with my buddies

I was standing at your door

Your door knows I had knOct-ober-time

until I was down on the floor

You let me in we had some gin

No-ember left untouched within

and all that was Dec-m-embered

had started over anew again

Now it’s New Year’s Eve

and I can’t believe

that we have grown beyond our fears

‘April will you be my light?’

She said yes!

‘What a hell of a year!’
