A Year of Balance

A year starting with

Broken boards, mainly skateboards,

Scattered in my friend’s van

The feeling of degeneracy everywhere

New friends came, old friends left

They mean more to me, than I mean to me

Without them, I wouldn't be anything

I wouldn’t have any influences

I wouldn't have any of the interests I do now

I wouldn't like the same music

I wouldn’t know who I am.

My friends made up my year, and they always will.

Hopefully.

Summer nights around town, with friends I may never see again

Transported across the town

My thoughts never going away

Everywhere I go, it still follows me

Fights with love, and love found again

“Wake up” they all said

But i wasn’t asleep,

Just unsure of where to turn next

What to do next

Teachings from idols, Musk, Abloh, to name a few

Friends go off to Cornell, I stay here

It doesn’t bother me, I’m just fine here

I’ve changed, changed back, and changed further

From old ways to new ways to old again

With every down, there was an up

But with every up, there was a down

Everything in my year had its opposite happen as well

It all came full circle in the end
