The Year I Found Love

I have looked into the abyss

Stood rooted in fear

Paralyzed, my next move unclear

Withheld myself from ever finding bliss

Never daring to dream of true love’s kiss

That changed in 2016, when I met the man

The man who never wavered and dived headfirst

The man who gave himself  into emotion uncoerced

Before I knew it, I was his biggest fan

I would follow him no matter how far he ran

I was ready for the jump, ready to take part

Every day with him is the happiest of my life

He makes me forget all my qualms and strife

My love, who this year found the key to my heart

Has made 2016 a true work of art
