Yearning for Her

Who needs the sunlight does not have you

For in your shining eyes is held the warmth of a thousand stars

Who treads with worry and care holds not your hand

For at your touch grace bends itself to thee

Should I then remorse my need for you

Have I not tread to hide my longing?

Sweetly, though our discourse has been taken in earnest

seeing you from such distance has made it bitter with craving

Is it one of us or has fate itself condemned

the peace of the soul which I seek

My ignorance, though it stops me from holding you

it keeps my thoughts of you from dying

and that itself will have to do

if not today, then at least in my deepest dreams

G Nathaniel

ignore the angst, the bathos, the pretentious pitfulls. If you read anything, be gentle. I guarantee it makes each word seem loose enough that its weight is left to the imagination :) write on!!
