Yearning's Reverie

I sensed the rise and fall of the slumber upon him in the gloom

Through dark sights I did gaze and grace the outlines that would soon

Bring upon me smiling memories of his pure mien that makes comfort swoon

Ever so gently I did, with ashen tips, feel the waves of the smooth midnight

The lengthy black of those crests calmed like the grey clouds between winds' fight

I felt the raven prepare for its euphonic calls when a slither gave it flight

For all whose purpose he holds this epic night plead to submerge in respite

Past the age-old ghosts that hover above and covet him So fair

He shined under the moon's reign to the shadows and wraiths too that took their stare

Ever so smoothly I did, with softened hands, caress his dampened cheeks from scares

Colorless lips whispered verses within ivory walls and let him resonate in his might

And upon his rising form we did shade ourselves from beauty and reviving light
