Years
Last year brought love to my door,
It brought new horizons,
And convictions worth fighting for.
Last year passed through me as vapor,
Each breathe bringing calm,
As I wrote paper after paper.
This year I am headstrong,
The work is paying off,
And it was her that was wrong.
This year plants grow under my palms,
New dreams are born,
As I sip my milkshake at Tom’s.
Next year I will be better,
I will be stronger,
I’ll send my love in a letter.
Next year I will be braver,
I will grab life by the horns.
And I will be my own savor.
