Yellow-Breasted Sparrow

Fluttering around in his destroyed nest

A yellow-breasted sparrow

with his little wings nearly bleeding

He searches for his fledgling

When he tires he stops and sings

and it even apepars that he is crying

when he takes off he leaves singing

only God knows he is agonizing

Oh, little bird

Yellow breasted sparrow

Simply by looking at you I have begun to cry

because God knows that by observing you

that I am bleeding just as you
