The yellow leaf

Alone -  and one of a kind….another like me – impossible to find!

Found a resting place on this old downed log,

This place damp and cool  - from an early fog.

Here for a while – then who drops in?

A forest frog – who looks quite thin!

He looked at me – with twinkled eyes,

While morning sun – begins to rise.

My color he says - caught his eyes,

Certainly stunning – and real surprised.

Soon a breeze – can be expected,

And from my place – I will be ejected.

Had little time - to enjoy this stay,

And come to think – this is a HOLIDAY!

Before the wind – gives me a lift,

The frog and I want to give you a wish.

Happy day to you and yours,

And certainly a thanks to our Lord.
