Yellow Nail Polish

I got on yellow nail polish

trying to lift my mood.

I thought it was workin’

till I saw you

you had on a smile

that I used to love to see

except this time

it wasn't aimed at me

you were flirtin’ with a freshman

just another hit and run

been avoiding you,

so I turn to go another way

but not before you see me.

Our eyes are meeting, having a

conversation of their own

Yours eyes say “i'm sorry”

while mine are saying “go away”

but like always you don't listen to me

you start walking towards me

so I turn and bolt

thats just me being me

always trying to run away

I guess my yellow nail polish

isnt going to save the day
