Yes, I'm Depressed

What cannot be perfected
Will be destroyed
Flaws are everywhere
Exist inside everything
And are Hidden by everyone
Worthless Useless Meaningless
We know these words are not entirely
true but when you fall short of perfection
The Expectation topples over on top of you
and many people cannot withstand the blow
Because it destroys you inside and out
And they can see it in your tired eyes
Faking it requires some sort of assertion
effort and a bit of caring, therefore it will
not last forever, it is a stage, just like life
The seasons and the amount of effort you
will exert when it all just becomes 'too much'
A hint of attitude followed by a negative reaction
Solitude followed by a few words that just had to
slip out of your wired shut jaws. You begin to vent.
You'd think that the brief moments of happiness
would be enough to stop you, but they are not
because intervals of happy are followed by
devastating periods of deep depression
It's a cycle, a reoccurrence, a nightmare.
And you live it every day.
It consumes you.
It has become you.
You are it.
