Yesterday

Yesterday,

Someone asked me what I stood for,

I couldn’t answer,

Does anyone know what they stand for these days,

Too much confusion,

Too much hate,

I thought about all the pain

All the sorrow of generations past,

To see what we’ve become,

It occurred to me that to stand for something,

There has to be something worth standing for,

So me,

I stand for tomorrow,

I stand for the moment we open our eyes and see the corrupted world we’ve created,

I stand for the day we find that beauty,

The beauty hidden under the chaos,

I stand for something worth standing for,

I stand,

But not for today.
