Yesterday

Obsessed

With what went wrong

I can't hear

What they tell me

I see their lips move

I feel the air

From their breath

Against my face

I can't see

What's clear

In front of me

I can't tell

I can't get home from here

What the hell

Happened to me

What the hell

Did I miss

Deep in this shell

I've been sleeping in

You talk

Like it's so easy

For someone like me

To navigate

My way

Back

To those days

When I was innocent

When was the last time

I really felt

Complete

When was the last time

I owned a damn thing

All mine

And when did I stop caring

Where I went

Swimming

Only gets me deeper

If anyone knew

If they could really see

What I see

When I see me

Through and through

Bone deep

I don't want to know

How this goes

How it'll end

If I just close my eyes tight enough

I can pretend

It'll go away

I won't feel this way

Tomorrow

That I can have yesterday

I can have it back

Because all I really want

Is my yesterday

To be my today
