Yesterday

I found out- and time stopped

That Labor Day was the last day

While I was partying he was alone

I don't know the details, the hows, the why,

maybe I'll never know.

all I know is he is gone

I'll never see his smile or hear his laugh

except in my head

I found out- and time stopped

I cried and I couldn't stop

Now I'm just angry

Why didn't he ask for help?

Why didn't he talk to someone?

Why did he do that?

What the heck Donovan

You're gone and I'll never have my answers.

It's senior year, Donovan.

There'll be a football game on Friday

You won't be playing

There'll be band today

You won't be goofing off

There'll be first period every day

You won't be in your chair.

Why?

Will I be able to look at that chair

In the corner of the room

Without feeling sad and angry?

Two days ago you killed yourself

Yesterday i found out- and time stopped

Today I woke up and you didn't

Tomorrow you'll still be gone

And I'll never know why
