Yesterday

Dear yesterday, who has gone away,

You were never meant to stay.

Dear friend, we will never meet again.

So let us not pretend.

Your lessons sometimes harsh

Like the winds in early March.

Sometimes you deliver beautiful recollections

That warms my heart in your reflection.

You are always in the past;

Time that flies so fast.

Not tomorrow or today,

But time that becomes another day.

Thank you for the time gone by.

Without it, I wouldn't be I.

You taught me hard; you taught me well,

There was also joy and laughter I can tell.

And even though we'll never meet again,

I will always remember you as a friend.
