Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

It feels like yesterday I was learning how to crawl, walk, and talk
It feels like yesterday I was learning my ABC’s and 1,2,3’s
It feels like yesterday I was watching Yo Gabba Gabba on tv while singing there’s a party in my tummy
It feels like yesterday I was taking naps and eating snacks in elementary school
It feels like yesterday I was getting mad on the playground every time I got chosen to be “it” first playing tag

The more I look back on yesterday I realized how it shaped me today

Today I know how to crawl, walk and talk
Today I am someone who knows my A,B,C’s but sometimes forgets what letter goes after E
Today I am someone who knows how to count to 3
Today I am someone who will still randomly sing there’s a party in my tummy
Today I am someone who misses taking naps and eating snacks in elementary school
Today I am someone who still gets mad for being chosen to be “it” first on the playground
Today I am someone who can proudly say that they have graduated from High School
Today I am someone who is ready for what the world has to offer

Today I prepare for tomorrow while missing yesterday

Tomorrow I look back on yesterday and wonder where the time went
Tomorrow brings college, big dreams, hopes and aspirations
Tomorrow brings the man I see me becoming in my dreams
Tomorrow brings new friends and a life new lessons learned
Tomorrow brings a better life for me, mom, and my sister

As I sit and miss yesterday and reflect on today, I welcome tomorrow which brings better days
