#YLEM
You only live once?
That is what they tell me
Does that mean I only have ONE oppurtunity to start living?
I sit around, I wait around.
I wait for my friends to stop arguing, for a boy to like me, for my parents to understand me
I wait and wait
Tapping my foot and hoping, praying that something, anything, will happen to me.
Anything that will make my heart skip a beat, my eyes glaze over, my voice scream out in pure joy
When will my life begin?
I want to live.
I want to visit cities far away, without having an anxiety attack every time I go on a plane
I want to watch the sun set on the beach and fall asleep in the warm sand
I want to run, run fast, run swift, through open fields, like a scene out of a movie
Nothing but me and the world
I feel trapped.
Expectations, stress, money, drama...
I am sick of spending my days in front of a computer screen, too afraid to experience life
I want to fulfill the YOLO stigma but not by getting drunk and high
but by L I V I N G my life
Seventeen years old and already feeling like I've wasted time
Time is all we have, really
This is my time
I need to run, to laugh, to dance, to smile
I need to try new foods, see more live music, buy new clothes, meet new people
You only live once they say
But although we only have one life
We have millions of moments to live and love
We live every day, not just one time
Life itself is not once thing, one experience
It is many, hundreds, thousands, millions, billions of experiences
Every second is the opportunity for a new way of living, a new life
We live when we laugh, when we cry
We don't live once, we live every day, we live...infinitely
Until the day we die we are always living, always learning
YOLO should not an excuse; lets get drunk now because this is our only time to live
Every day is a new time to live
And that, makes one life, feel like more than enough.
So if I truly want to, need to start living
This moment is as good as any
To begin.
