Yong and Dumb
Young and dumb
That’s what they perceive us to be
But when I look in the mirror I see a different identity
Me
I see me
I see the person that I want to be
The person that I was
The person that I want to become
But you can’t focus on the future if your mindset is not even in the present because you’re still stuck on the past
I want to deal with my past so I can move forward but no one around me wants to move forward
They just want to see me as a color
They see me as a slave
They see me as property
I’m more than what you see
I’m not YOUNG AND DUMB
I just want to be free
I need a new identity
You’re not going to kill me on the street because I’m black
Not today
I’m going to pave my way
We’re not a statistic
You can’t treat me like I ain’t shit
I’m sorry that y’all are uncomfortable
But clearly I’m not confrontable
Cuz yall see me as young and dumb
But I see the future that the generation needs
Me
