You’re an observer

I don’t need attention.

I sit in the back.

I keep to myself, as a matter of fact.

I may not be noticed, but I notice all.

My teacher said writing may be your true call.

“If you soak in everything where does it go?”

He asked me almost twelve months ago.

I thought for a while, but nothing was presented.

My teacher said writing could be a good method.

I agreed at once and began a journey

Of writing down everything in quite a big hurry.

Before I read and now I write.

I hope one day my dreams take flight.

Throughout the year I found my true calling

Of being a teacher who encourages scrawling.

It doesn’t matter if you’re good or bad

As long as you write you can’t be sad.

I hope one day I get to help

A student fill a whole bookshelf

With books they love and books they wrote.

I hope I inspire some great quotes.

This year has been one crazy ride

But I am filled with great pride.

I started this year with a blank page

And now I have seen quite a big change.

My head is filled with stories and dreams

And places I have never even seen.

Whenever I feel my head is bursting

I pick up a pen and words come spurting.

Thousands of pages are all filled up

And my brain is still filled to the brim like a cup.

Thanks to my teacher I can finally see

I belong with the teaching community.

I want to encourage reading and writing.

The thought of this is truly exciting.

One year later I am still the observer

But now I am also an aspiring teacher and writer.
