You
I don't really know what I expected when I first met you.
I definitely didn't expect you to be half the things you ended up.
My life made us go through
Half the things I never thought we were meant to.
So much sooner you saw tears that smeared my makeup,
And learned that sometimes, I'd never want to wake up.
You made me find my childhood again,
And remembering things I wish I never outgrew.
You made broke me of my ego, of which I thought no one knew,
You made me admit when I was wrong,
I never thought I'd meet anyone so headstrong.
You made me feel so free though,
Not where just me, but we go.
You made me get lost in the eyes that look at me,
You get me lost in dreams, and I forget the actuality.
I picture three kids, a cat: a perfect family.
I never thought about the repercussions,
I fight so hard I feel like you're giving me concussions.
I fight because I love you, and I'm never going to lose
The part about myself I love the most-- the part of me that's you
