You
Like the wind, you entered my life,
Stirring about.
—My emotions in total disarray.
You!
I realize that we can never be.
I've accepted my place in your world.
—A friend.
Someone to confide in.
Yes!
I could accept it.
Although inadequate
—Incomplete.
But you say you want to share with me.
What?
Share what!
You deny me your dreams because you're ashamed.
Our little secret must never be revealed.
Yet I cut you deeper than any wound.
In order for me to inflict such pain,
You would have felt something for me.
But you deny me again!
—Such is life.
I suppose—
But all I wanted was for you to acknowledge my existence.
—Because behind this façade,
I'm much more than just words—
