YOU

From the beginning you where there

The first thing I heard was your heart and your voice but I couldn't see you

You felt me and loved me before you saw me

When it was my time to come you rushed to the hospital

You almost lost me  but I was strong and wanted to see you

You weren't going to lose me so easily

The words, looks, music, and animals that I knew was all because of you

I was small and you where mighty

I wanted to be just like you

As time grew my mind changed and I knew that I could never be YOU

Age came and so did my own idea of who you are

Years passed without you and then you show back up trying to be what I needed

I out grew you and your image no longer your daughter but your equal

Shortly after my own blessing was on her way it all became about You again

That call broke my heart

Soon you'd be gone but I wouldn't be able to call or talk

You would be out of any service a bird couldn't even reach you

No way to reach the person I suddenly needed

No way to be with you the way I needed

Sudden regret but no way to make it right

No way to say I Love YOU
