For You

You wake up angry and leave me

Hangin

Sayin "I love you" to your back,

Wishin I could retreat

Back to bed

Into myself.

You don't mean it you're just angry

At yourself

The jeans you forgot to put in the dryer

Your new work schedule.

A possible love interest

You are insistin I have.

But I don't take the bait

Assuring I only have eyes

For you.
