You

My thoughts are my nightmare

It is endless noise that

refuse to go mute

Even when I block my ears

Especially then

My lifelong companions scream and shriek

punch and yank

at me and I

Let them.

I have swallowed the fact that

They will never stop.

Never cease.

But then I met you and

Silence welcomed me like a long-lost child.
