You

And it was you who knew just what to say Your words peaked my interest- capitavting me more and more.. day by day "Hold on", my mind told my heart, don't be too quick to fall But it was too late- your actions took precedent, it was evident that I was willing to give you my all And my all was my all, but it still wasn't enough to make you want me and only me If only I could meticously dissect your mind and place in it the thought of me But I guess it wasn't meant to be When you held me tight, you embraced not just my body but my soul and my heart I was on a high.. you were my drug and I was addicted- inflicted with these feelings My head told me stop but my heart wasn't willing Just like all drugs, I had to come down from my high I had to walk away from what was once such a great feeling Now my stomach was in knots- my mind jumbled up and confused Misused, broken hearted.. played, if that's what you call it If your actions were a gun, I had just been shot The bullet was unexpected but the unforgettable pain was not But I guess it's life, you either move on or soak in your sorrow It'll all get better once you pray for a brighter tomorrow And it was you who knew just what to say But your words no longer affect me, your presence no longer infects me What's done is done, it was fun while it lasted Now it's time for me to turn in the other direction and forgive what my past did.
