For You
For You,
This is my simple love letter for you. Every tear that falls when I cry is for you. I could fill up an ocean with my tears. Some people have rose gardens, and days without fear. I have an ocean and miles between you and I. Every tide that you see when you look out over the ocean is because on the other side another tear I have dropped, since you've said good-bye.
Everyday that you are gone I pray you will come back alive. I jump into the water and dive. I'm having fun. My life still moves on even when you are gone. Every day at dawn you will find me standing by the shoreline, hoping that by some chance you will be there too, at dawn. I pray that every name I see in the paper and every knock at the door is not you.
If you were here you would tell me not to worry, but you are not here and I am alone. All alone. Down by the ocean shore. You'll find me at dawn. Please come home from the war.
