For You

I’ll miss the bitter sweet ending of the day

the sweet music the birds sang to us in May

The scent of the air after a long night of rain

each and every memory that created joy and pain

The way those leaves change from summer to fall

but most of all the way you helped me break down my wall

You held me and assured me you would catch me if I fall

But everything comes and goes in its own season

life always brings a change of events without reason

Sometimes I cry because the end came for you and I

and tho I miss you the only thing for me to do

is write poetry like you encouraged me to

Your words flow forever with passion and ease

as rhythmic and glorious as a warm gentle breeze

basking in all its glory caressing each rock as it goes by

hugging each and every object that is close making it fly

I write to get that same feeling that was oh so dear

it makes me feel so close to you like you are near

I feel so safe and secure all without fear

the way I felt will always be here

Sure I will cry because I will think of you sometimes

that is what keeps me writing these rhymes

The same way we felt watching night turn to day

the joy bees feel when they see the flowers in May

That’s what keeps me writing I know it’s sad and true

I’m just hoping you’ll see this and know I wrote this for you
