You
You
4 years I relied on you
Started off so strong and so right
Not right, not healthy
You lied and lied and I knew you did
I knew you were a liar
But it was all harmless, right?
4 years I depended on you
My naivety, my longing
Made me force my eyes shut
To what I knew you would do
Not right
In the back of my mind I knew there was more
You were always there, no matter what
So nice, at least to me
Always understanding, you seemed
So strong, from what I’ve seen
Just right
I knew there was more
Not right
You played my kind of music
On and off, on and off the melodies rang
Even when the song changed,
You were still my closest everything
I knew there was more
I was always plagued with doubt
Yet I always trusted you
You set a plague of your own as you seemed to relieve mine
A silent and deadly disease
I trusted you
Even though I knew it wasn’t right
Honesty
Lack of honesty led to my broken trust
Broken trust meant a broken foundation
The foundation that caved into it’s broken side
Crushing me while you stand there perfectly
Not right
I have almost talked to you so many times
You’ve stained my head and damaged my heart
But my mind misses the image I made of you
And my heart, the feeling I had with what I thought was you
Not who I know you are now
Not right
You were never wrong
It was my fault we didn’t talk after that night
Proved you wrong?
Moved on
And now it is back to my fault
Not right
Told me I was the only one and always will be
Said you should have finally proved that to me
4 years
You only saw me
Suddenly you forgot about me
Out of the blue
Now it’s only her you see
And you never told me
You used me, so you didn’t feel lonely
Then left me feeling more alone than before
Toward the end you didn’t even try
You just tried to keep up with your lie
You cheated me
It was because of me
4 years, so short, had seemed so long
Started out so young
When you left
I told myself I only stayed with you
Because I grew up with you
Because you were the closest to me
Not right
You said you were sorry
I wish you were
Not true
You weren’t true
I should have been able to rely on you
