For You
When I asked you what to write about you said write about you,
I smiled and laughed because I didn’t know how to,
But now it’s different, much different than then,
So I’ll write this poem for you.
It didn’t take long for me to feel the way I did,
Or even for me to say the things that I said,
And especially not the worries I felt,
That I wanted to worry about with you.
College is a struggle
It’s filled with much stress,
Always more but never less,
And it leaves me to guess,
How are you really dealing with it?
When it rains it pours
And when it shines my heart is still sore.
What could those two lines have to do with this,
With you I had no stress I felt every kiss,
But when you worried I would worry
And when you said everything will be okay I still was afraid,
But I apologize for stressing because it causes more trouble,
So I try to be strong,
I try to hold my tears like I’m trying now
Because these sheets of paper can’t be damp like my pillow is every night.
I couldn’t study and I couldn’t think,
I used to think it was you,
But those days you were gone it was even harder to.
I started to spend more time with you
And I really wanted to,
We talked for two weeks,
But it felt like 52.
When I didn’t spend the night I would stay a while,
The most beautiful part other than your actual self is that wonderful smile.
And I’m still writing there is so much I want to say,
I can write this poem for days,
But if I actually did that
Would you get tired of what you hear?
The day I met you it was love at first sight,
But I was only a stranger,
Sitting in class talking to Bricey,
I said “Brice, I’m gonna marry her”,
I messaged you to try to be friends,
Because you were someone I adored,
But after the first message you replied to, everything else I was ignored.
So all my friends said on to the next one,
Because I was a “G-town Goon”,
And I did so I could have my fun,
But that was way back in June.
I’m not going to go on much longer.
Amor you know how I feel.
I think about you every day,
Can you be my queen and I’ll be your king,
Love all I’m trying to say
Is thank you for everything.
