To You

Dear you,

yes, you

you know who you are because

your eyes are scanning this page

waiting for something on it to

speak

to you.

The future seems bleaker than

the sky when it's about to snow

doesn't it?

The waiting and the

wishing that

something good will come from

gloom and darkness

hanging over your head-

something beautiful.

Something unique that makes

oceans fall from darkened eyes.

Something that makes you feel

clean

and new again.

After all this waiting and wishing

and hoping

that maybe tomorrow is your day but

tomorrow never comes.

But I am here to tell you that waiting

and worrying

biting your lip and shaking with fear

will starve your future.

It will wither away to nothing because

you are doing nothing to

prevent this.

You feed your future.

Throw paint on the canvas

Stare at the stars until they

show you the way

Dance in the rain and let the drops

draw maps as they

race down your skin

LIVE

so that your life may become just that-

a life-

instead of a hollow existence.

Sincerely yours,

hannah elise
