You

You

You are you

You are not her

She is not you

You

Beautiful

Stunning

Sweet , sweet girl

get up

Go to a mirror, and look in it

Stare

What do you see?

Look at what you hate

Look at the things that tear you down so much you want to scream

And just stare

You are the reflection

A reflection that not only has purpose but also is perfect

And yes, I said perfect

not because it's flawless

but because it's flaws are perfectly crafted

And yes you see yourself only through glass

not through the eyes of others but the only thing

That truly matters is on the inside

and sometimes we see our insides better than others

But we must be confident that

We are us

Love yourself they say

Self love is defined as one’s regard for one’s own well - being and happiness

But

Does that really mean anything?

To categorize those things into a definition..

How can you?

The way we see ourselves

And love ourselves

Cannot be defined

You cannot be told what is acceptable

As a person you have to decide

The truth about society is that we are so truly head over heels for

Wanting to be perfect

That we do what it takes to be seen

Even if our intentions are clean

We act almost obscene

Because our confidence is so low that we don’t

Know how to be us

But darling

You are a queen

You keep your head down your whole life

and you force yourself to blend in

we try so hard to fit in

we strive to be noticed

we want so much to be looked at differently

but we do just what our friends do

we look up to people but want to be categorized as our own person

but honey

how can you stand out if you're trying so hard to fit in?

Look again into that mirror

the person who's looking back is you

what is it that's staring you down

eating you alive

It's the best part of you

it's what makes you

you

radiant

powerful

ravishing

you.
