You.

You changed my roses from black to red,

But they’re back to black today

You used to take my breath away

With your considerate words and charming smile

You said nothing would ever tear us apart,

Knowing not that it would be your fault

You said that sentence so sincerely,

Three little words with such strong meaning

You were the missing piece, so I thought

But I soon found out that you were not

You said you’d never hurt me

But that trust was broken today

You were kissing her: my best friend

But you didn’t know that I saw

You and her together

Never to be my friends again.

You both broke my heart that day,

And I’ve cried a time or two,

But I’m glad I never dared to say those words

“I love you.”
