You and I

I fell for you,
                                                                You found me alone
with your shy smile
                                                                with my chapped lips
and your sky blue eyes
                                                                and empty eyes.
which you’d use to stop
                                                                I wish you could
my heart and wrap my mind
                                                                save me from myself
around your sturdy fingers.
                                                                with my broken body
You left me spinning
                                                                and my weary heart
up in the air, trying
                                                                If only you were strong,
not to fall to the
so you could keep me from
ground.
                                                                sinking.

Though your poem is absolutely lovely, I am most drawn to the format that you have used. I have read it several different ways and each of them tells me a new poem, a new side of a story all the same- I find that beautiful. Thank you for sharing something so unique.

Rebecca
