You and I

When I look at you, it all makes sense, and I see everything I want to be.

I see two hands lifting me up, giving me something to hold onto.

Because I love you, I see you, and I see the best version of me.

With any news, at any time, I come to you, the first to see.

No rules, no catch, just a shoulder to cry on. Just me and you.

Seeing you makes sense, I look at you and you're all I need.

If I'm not with you, no matter where you are, I never worry.

You fly so high, roam so far, when I'm not there, I still see you grow.

I love you, because of all the fish in the sea, you always come back to me.

I hold you close because a moment away is a moment too many,

The goodbye is painless, but never easy, as I mumble “tomorrow.”

Don't leave because I see you and I see the best me I can be.

So I let you go, knowing you'll come back because we’re meant to be.

Wherever you go, whatever you do, I want you to know,

You are a part of me. I love you because you're the best of me.

You and I, we’re safe and sound. We’ve built this home under lock and key.

We’ll take on the world, you and I, and always let the love flow.

When I look at you, it all makes sense, I see everything I want to be.

Because I love you, I see you, and I see the best version of me.
